Looking for a unique way to show your support for peace while staying stylish and comfortable? Look no further than Spingle Co.'s latest release: sneakers made from recycled paper cranes!
These one-of-a-kind shoes are the result of a collaboration between Spingle and Camino Co., a Tokyo-based company that specializes in bioplastic products. The shoes are made from "paper crane rayon thread," which is produced using pulp recycled from the millions of origami cranes offered each year at Hiroshima Peace Memorial Park and other locations.
In recent years, nearly 20 tons of paper cranes per year have
been recycled and reused in products such as bookmarks. But Spingle took things
to the next level by partnering with fabric manufacturer Shinohara Textile Co.
to develop a canvas fabric that is durable enough to be used for shoe parts.
The result is a sleek and simple design that features a white
body and rubber soles, with colorful photos of origami cranes printed on the
tongue and blue insoles to symbolize peace. The shoes are available in seven
sizes, from XS to XL, and come in a set with five sheets of origami paper made
from recycled paper cranes.
But these shoes aren't just stylish and environmentally friendly
– they're also certified by the Citizens Council for the Hiroshima Summit as
support goods for the Group of Seven (G-7) leaders' summit. So, you can wear
them with pride knowing that you're supporting a good cause.
If you're looking for a way to make a statement and show your
commitment to peace, these sneakers are the perfect choice. So why not slip
into a pair and step out with style?
